Identify rebar patterns before replacement of steel beams and installation of HVAC
Penhall was asked to locate the rebar pattern before steel beams were placed and the floor was opened for new HVAC. Penhall arrived to an occupied building and completed the scans early enough for the steel and demo contractors to begin without disturbing the State Compensation Insurance Fund workers.
Scanning structural concrete slab to locate conduit and utilities
Penhall recently traveled to Mill Valley, CA to use ground penetrating radar to scan and locate conduit and utilities. We were instructed to examine a structural slab that was approximately 16″ x 16″.
Ground penetrating radar used to identify any obstructions before core drilling
At a location in Santa Clara, CA, Penhall was hired to locate and identify hazards using GPR concrete scanning. We scanned a 6″ thick concrete slab on pan decking prior to core drilling 2 areas.
Concrete wall scan at 20 feet above ground
For a client in Sacramento, CA, we were required to scan a location 20′ above a finished floor. We used ground penetrating radar to scan the 10″ thick CMU wall before performing a 4″ core drilling.
Locate post tension cables and other obstructions before core drilling
Penhall used GPR scanning to locate embedded objects on this recent project in West Sacramento, CA. The objects were located prior to the coring of a 3′ x 5′ x 2′ area of concrete slab.
