Austin Concrete Scanning Projects that Penhall Worked On
Ground penetrating radar used to minimize hazards before drilling
A Penhall Technologies’ analyst was recently called out to a residence in Hutto, Texas, where some immediate scanning was needed. Previously, this particular residence had a gun safe company present at their home to install a new gun safe. When the company arrived, they had notified the residence that they would be drilling into the garage concrete slab to anchor it in place, and had asked if they knew the slab contained post tension cables, and if so, was the area GPR scanned? They were caught off guard and knew they had to find a company quickly. They were fully aware of the financial cost of having these installers wait. They put things in-motion and they found Penhall Technologies. Hoping for a same-day scan, they gave us a call. The analyst was able to arrive within the hour. As the analyst performed his job, the customers were completely satisfied with his eagerness to ensure that the pattern of holes being anchored into the slab would not interfere with any observed and/or marked hazards. Penhall Technologies throughout the Central Texas region, is there for you when you need us, as our analyst was there for this residence. We will make every effort, for every client, to be as prompt and provide satisfactory service as much as possible.
Concrete scanning is used to find obstructions, such as rebar, tension cables, or conduit
In Gatesville, TX, Penhall was requested for our concrete scanning services. We scanned three separate areas on 8″ thick concrete slab for any obstructions, such as rebar, post tension cable, or conduit. After scanning, we were now safe to perform core drilling of 4″ diameter holes.
Ground penetrating radar used to scan a rooftop for post tension cables
In Austin, TX, three areas of a roof were in need of some concrete scanning. We used ground penetrating radar to scan a 13″ slab in order to drill 4″ diameter cores safely.
Detect hazards within the concrete before core drilling
A client in Taylor, TX reach out to Penhall to scan for hazards before performing some core drilling. The scan location consisted of 5″ x 5″ areas below false floor tiles. The scan indicated where the obstructions were, and our analysts marked where it was safe to perform the core drilling.
