Underground utility locating services for landscaping
A landscaping company hired us for our underground utility locating service. The client was installing irrigation lines in the outfield of 6 softball fields, and needed to locate any utilities to perform the installation safely. Our analyst used the RD7100 and GSSI Utility cart with the SIR 4000. He found and marked both irrigation and power lines with paint and flags.
GPR and Radio Detection used to identify conduit and utilities underneath slab
Penhall Technologies was contacted to scan 4 trenches for shallow conduits and utilities prior to saw cutting. The contractor had noted electrical conduits along with drain lines running just under the concrete slab. Penhall Technologies was able to scan each trench line and mark out on the conduits and utilities with spray paint. Also, the analyst scanned with a utility wand capable of locating live electric and low voltage lines. By scanning the concrete prior to saw cutting, the contractor could safely cut the slab without the risk of damage. GPR uses no radiation making it safe for use in high traffic areas such as malls, hospitals and universities.
Locate and determine the depth of the main water line for commercial property
A commercial property was purchased to be converted into a fitness center. The client wanted to scan the large, bare interior of the concrete slab to locate a main water pipe. Penhall Technologies arrived on-site, found the pipe, approximated the depth, and marked it for the customer. The property conversion was able to move forward safely and timely.
Identify where existing utilities lie before installing a new sprinkler system
A sprinkler system company in Greenville asked Penhall Technologies to locate and mark utilities before installing sprinkler lines for a private residence. We used GPR to scan approximately 5,000 square feet to help avoid damaging any underground utilities.
