Avoid hitting gas and electrical lines when restructuring a driveway
Just outside of Pasadena, a local fire station needed to restructure the layout of their driveway. Prior to breaking and removing the concrete they wanted to first identify any gas lines or electrical cables to avoid damaging those lines. Penhall Technologies arrived with Radio Detection and GPR locating equipment and marked all underground hazards. Our GPR analysts pays high attention during the utility marking process to ensure accuracy.
Locate underground utiliy before installing new perimeter lighting
At one of the world’s largest refreshment plants, a utility survey was performed by Penhall Technologies before core drilling (60) holes for new perimeter lighting. Per the plants’ access requests, GPR analysts and operators performing the work were asked to submit a background check and take a four hours safety course.
Discovered water line when locating other utility lines
A homeowner in Culver City called Penhall Technologies after purchasing a new property and seeing Call Before You Dig signs. The homeowner wanted to find and mark leach lines of unknown lengths. Penhall Technologies performed the survey and found the leach lines and also discovered an unknown water line.
Find subsurface utility before breaking and removing concrete
New tenants moved into a commercial building in El Segundo and wanted to repurpose an oversized parking lot into a grassy lunch area. Before the breaking and removal of concrete took place, the tenants called Penhall Technologies to locate and mark all subsurface utilities. Penhall marked the found gas, water, and electrical lines and also documented those findings on a written field report which was given to the customer for their records.
