Penhall Technologies locates electrical and water lines
Recently, Penhall Technologies was hired to perform private utility scanning for an engineering firm. The client had been tasked with the demolition and upgrade of large diesel fuel tanks. These provide power to air traffic control relay stations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Penhall Technologies was asked to locate any major electrical and water lines that were in the area to be cut. The analyst went above what was asked by mapping out any of the grounding grids that were running through the area in addition to the utility markings. This allowed the demolition process to be sped up, keeping the project ahead of schedule and on budget.
Identify all vital utility lines before removing and installing a new playground
An engineering firm called Penhall because an elementary school in Sacramento needed all utilities located and marked on their playground in preparation for a new playground installation. A private homeowner in the Napa Valley had a block in PVC line that ran to a septic tank but was not confident in its direction or pattern. The customer called 811 and was instructed to contact a private utility locator. Penhall Technologies completed the survey using GPR and marked out the entire length of the pipe and allowed the customer to trench and replace it successfully.

In Sacramento, a general contractor needed to have approximately 14,000 square feet scanned to identify any and all underground utilities prior to trenching for pipeline work. Penhall Technologies completed the work with the use of GPR and RD technology.
