Identify underground utilities in existsing parking lot before building a 5-story parking garage
At a local Riverside hospital, Penhall Technologies performed a utility locate using GPR on approximately 1000 square feet in a parking lot. The hospital planned to replace the parking lot with a 5-story parking garage. Penhall Technologies conducting the utility survey and marked all found utilities including power and gas lines.
Determine the size of the underground void created by a water leak
At a Southern California military base, underground utility locating was performed to determine the size of a void that was caused by a water leak. The size of the survey was approximately 45′ x 3′ wide.
Locate utilities before excavation for tree removal
At a university campus in California, Penhall Technologies surveyed an approximately 500′ sq feet area lot that had multiple trees. The underground utility locating needed to be performed before trees could be removed. Penhall located and marked underground irrigation lines and communication utilities.
Avoid utilities before undergoing demolition
A newly opened grocery store was not pleased with the placement of the shopping cart barriers throughout their parking lot. Before removing the barriers and reinstalling in new areas, Penhall Technologies was called to perform underground utility locating to help avoid damaging utilities during the demolition and construction. The (5) 15’x 6′ areas were marked free of any underground utilities.
Locate underground utilities before directional boring
Before directional boring, Penhall Technologies was called out to a newly purchased area of land in Torrance to conduct underground utility locating. The area to be surveyed was roughly 1.5 acres. Penhall Technologies located and marked all utilities and also summarized those findings in the form of a written field report.
