Topanga Tower
The Topanga Tower is a former microwave relay site built by AT&T during the cold war and was built to ensure survivability of government and military communications after a nuclear attack. The current owner has modified the structure to be used as a multi-purpose use complex for the movie and record industries. Penhall Co. was hired to Wire Saw, Wall Saw and demo various size wall openings for new doors and windows in the 12” to 36” thick battered concrete walls, cut and demo the slab on grade for new footings, cut out a 30’ x 15’ roof opening through the 15” thick concrete roof and demo blast walls designed to protect the building in a nuclear attack.
