PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
At Berth 238-239 in the Port of Los Angeles, Penhall Company delivered specialized marine demolition services as part of major terminal infrastructure improvements. Working in partnership with Manson Construction, our team navigated the unique challenges of over-water demolition to safely remove critical structural elements of the wharf.
Scope of Work: Demolition of wharf deck sections, pile caps, and dolphin moorings using flat saws, wire saws, chipping tools, and Bobcat equipment.
Project Goal: Clear existing marine structures to support upgrades to the Marine Oil Terminal.
Specialized Expertise: Precision demolition over open ocean water, requiring careful coordination, environmental awareness, and controlled equipment handling.
Safety & Compliance: Work was performed above water with strict marine safety protocols and multi-trade coordination to protect crews and the surrounding environment.
Key Milestones: Successfully executed complex over-water removals while maintaining schedule and supporting continuous marine operations.
