Penhall Company was contracted to perform wall sawing, concrete removal, and breaking at the Capitol Park Hotel in Sacramento, CA, for the government sector. The project scope included:

  • Wall Sawing: Cutting two 7’ x 8’ door openings and two 3’-6” x 2’-6” louver openings in a 20” thick concrete wall
  • Precision Removal: Utilizing controlled demolition methods to safely break and remove concrete sections
  • Confined Space Execution: Strategic planning to cut and clear debris without affecting surrounding structures
  • Innovative Load-Out Solution: Breaking concrete inward and using a mini excavator with a bucket attachment for efficient removal
  • Safety & Coordination: Overcoming site constraints with expert execution and adherence to strict safety protocols

This project required creative problem-solving and precise execution due to space limitations. The team successfully completed the work while maintaining structural integrity and ensuring minimal disruption.
