PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Penhall Company was tasked to sawcut and dice for removal a 360’ long x 16’ wide x 6” thick concrete platform deck on top of 8” of structural foam with 14” extended steel plated overhangs. Crews were mobilized from various divisions to complete the task during (2) weekend closures inside Sound Transit Tunnel. After a the slab was diced into pieces for removal of 107 cubic yards of concrete was moved with Skidsteers onto flatbed trucks we moved in our Diamond Products CS 2000 custom curb saw to remove the remaining outer overhang sections.

Crews were mobilized from various divisions to complete the task during (2) weekend closures inside Sound Transit Tunnel.

This project was operated around the clock for (2) separate weekend closures led by Seattle Superintendent Joe Osborn with special recognition to Seattle Sawcutter, Skidsteer and Curb Saw operator Anetone Fata as well as all local and out of area crew that helped with the effort.
