PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Surgical removal of four story cast in place concrete stairwell for hospital addition. Scope consisted of removal of architectural steel screening around stairwell prior to concrete removal. Temporarily shored concrete, wall sawed concrete risers and landings into sections not to exceed 10,000 lbs. Core drilled pick holes and removed with tower crane.

Hospital would not allow conventional excavator demolition methods due to the stairwell being attached to the hospital adjacent to patient rooms and limited access with the new construction. Diamond sawing, drilling and hoisting with the onsite tower crane was the optimal choice.
