Penhall Company provided the abatement and total wrecking of a 10,000 SF former restaurant for a private owner. Penhall Company provided the owner with a “turnkey” demolition solution that included providing abatement, site-fencing/ temp facilities, cut+cap of sewer, total wrecking of the site, and minor grading.
Penhall Company provided the selective structural demolition required to abandon the obsolete “Estancia High School Pool” as well as the demolition required to construct the new pool. Access to the existing pool as extremely limited; the pool was located within an atrium with very restrictive access through a small breezeway. Penhall Company utilized appropriately sized equipment to expeditiously complete all selective demolition required to abandon the existing pool shell.
Penhall Company was contracted to perform the wrecking of an existing odor control facility at Hyperion Waste Water Treatment Plant. The work scheduled to occur in three phases includes interior wrecking of obsolete pumps, blowers, equipment, slab, and selective portions of structure. On the exterior of the structure Penhall Company wrecked approx. 5,000 SF of scrubbers, towers, piping, supports, cat walks, and other miscellaneous equipment. Penhall Company has demolished approx. 5,000 SF of slab including pads and foundations in excess of 6’ thick. General Contractor and City of Los Angeles have had issues locating and identifying utilities within our work areas. 480v “unidentified” lines were uncovered during demolition. No incident/injury due to Penhall Company superintendent identifying and notifying GC.
Penhall Company demolished the 17,500 SF concrete main office and Library of the Los Alamitos High School. The work was done so that a new $55 million dollar STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) building could be built. The building demolition had to be performed during school hours. Penhall Company worked expeditiously to ensure the structure was removed with minimal impact to the students or staff. Penhall Company received accolades from the Los Alamitos Unified School District for successfully removing the structures, safely, within the constraints of working on a live High School Campus. In addition to the structures; Penhall Company removed approx. 32,000 SF of concrete paving, and 6,000 SF of concrete canopy.
Penhall provided selective demolition for the Crypto Arena Renovation, preparing the venue for Olympic and seasonal event upgrades. Work spanned the Chairman’s Club, Family Rooms, Impact Club, Suite Level, and Upper Concourse, including concession removals.

Careful planning and coordination ensured safety and efficiency in this high-traffic venue, minimizing disruptions to ongoing arena events.
Penhall was contracted to extend a door opening 1.5’ higher which we cut with a Wall Saw because it had to be extremely straight. We then used a Ring Saw to clean up the corners.
Penhall Company provided the total building wrecking and site clear of a concrete tilt-up for Edwards Life Science in Irvine, CA. The 30,000 SF building housed Edwards Life Science’s former credit union, however the structure needed to be removed so that a new parking structure could be built to support Edward’s ever-growing campus. In addition to the 30,000 SF building, Penhall Company removed approx. 40,000 SF of site work and underground utilities.
