PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Penhall was contacted to support a fire restoration project at a magnesium production plant. A large fire burned for nearly 12 hours before it was extinguished. The fire was so hot it melted the concrete from the structural columns nearly 4 inches in some spots. Means and methods was a huge factor in whether we would land the job. as the structural engineer would only allow 15 lb chipping hammers. We chipped and removed 5,848 CF of concrete from all damaged columns, both faces of all 72 concrete tanks, and many areas of the roof structure. We completed our scope 3 weeks ahead of schedule with no injuries or incidents. Worked over 31,900 manhours over sixteen weeks incident free on the project. Crew size up to 52 employees to meet the customer schedule.
